Sandlund/Hossain was founded in 2016 by Anders Sandlund and Tulin Hossain. They got to know each other through their parents who have been working together since the 1970s.

In 1899 Anders grandfathers father founded Böle Tannery, a family business that has been running for four generations. Back in the 1970s, Anders’ parents Inger and Jan left Sweden for volunteer work in Bangladesh. That’s where they met Tulin’s parents, Atiq and Dolly, becoming friends and co-workers. Sandlund/Hossain is built on the heritage and techniques of the tannery in Böle. The company also carries along their parents’ thoughts on social development and the importance of caring for each other.

“They have done a lot of things right for a very long time and built a great company from scratch. Where sustainability has been key all along. They are a modern company with incredibly interesting products. That is why we are very happy to have the opportunity to work with them”, says Anders Tånger, CEO of Unboxx.

Sandlund/Hossain have ambitions to scale up, and that’s where the Unboxx team with its cutting-edge expertise comes into the picture.

"Unboxx has a specific competence when it comes to digital upscaling. They can also be a strategic support for building the brand. Also, it’s a bonus that they are based in northern Sweden", says Anders Sandlund.

Sandlund/Hossain have offices and a showroom in Härnösand. The leather bags are manufactured in their own factory in Bangladesh. Every year, Sandlund/Hossain donates calves to families in the village of Bagatipara in Bangladesh. The families also receive support and education that can mean a way out of poverty.

“Having a presence in the country means a lot to us. We have been operating in Bangladesh since 2005. It feels fun and is one of the cornerstones of our company. My vision is to show that it is profitable to take responsibility. Bangladesh is a good place to prove this thesis”, says Anders Sandlund.

Unboxx enters the company on an operational level and injects capital.

“It is a very good match, where we complement each other. It’s really going to be exciting and fun”, says Anders Tånger.
